Praying The Psalms:  Psalm 104:1-4

Bless the Lord, O my soul!
    O Lord my God, you are very great!
You are clothed with splendor and majesty,
    covering yourself with light as with a garment,
    stretching out the heavens like a tent.
He lays the beams of his chambers on the waters;
he makes the clouds his chariot;
    he rides on the wings of the wind;
he makes his messengers winds,
    his ministers a flaming fire.

Kindness

 “Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you..”
- Ephesians 4:31;32

Ways To Pray:

  • We would be marked with kindness and tenderness as we speak, work, and live among others.
  • We wouldn’t store up bitterness to those who have sinned against us.
  • We would trust in God to bring wrath or mercy to those who have harmed us.
  • We wouldn’t gossip, or slander others, but seek reconciliation.
  • We would see the great weight of our own sin, and see how Jesus forgave us, and extend that forgiveness to others.

Mandaean (man-DAY-un) in Australia

The Mandaeans are descendants of Jewish-Christian Gnostics and may be the only sect from late antiquity to identify themselves as Gnostics. Sometimes Mandaeans are called "Christians of Saint John" because they venerate John the Baptist and baptism is their central sacrament. In actuality, Mandaeism is based more on a common heritage than on any set of religious creeds and doctrines. Until recently, Mandaeans lived mainly in Iraq and Iran, but many have now fled Iraq and settled in other countries such as Australia.

Ways To Pray:

  • They have a partial understanding, but they need to understand the finished work of Christ. Pray that those who will soon find Christ would clearly understand the good news, especially the full payment of the penalty for their sins.

  • Pray they would see the bible as the word of God, and see that Gnosticism is a false gospel.
